Churring started around 21.20 then male showed well a couple of times. Also Tawny Owl calling from conifers.

Two adults and 4 medium-sized cygnets on the rather low river, seen from the footbridge that links Albert St and the lower part of Old Castle Road. Presumably birds that bred on Sandy Water Park or Old Castle Pond. Accompanied by a nearby little egret foraging on the river.

Following on from yesterday`s sighting of a pair near the North Dock/Seaside, a single bird (male in full plumage) atop brambles and other rough vegetation between the Cricket Club and relatively new housing.

Male and female in brambles etc alongside coast path adjacent to the coast road. There is probably sufficient feeding habitat along this linear slope which goes down to rank upper saltmarsh and laterally to rough grassland etc to support a breeding pair.
