There are three breeding pairs in Salem, so we have 4 to 6 kites flying around us from noon till dusk, always very vocal perched in our Oaks.

It could be worth a mention concerning the early evening Herring gulls that pass over Salem frequently, heading in a southerly direction, Numbers can exceed 100.

I have 1 poor video showing 2 tawny owls and 1 clearer photo of 1 of the tawny owls – I cannot see a place to attach them here. Spotted this evening (30 June 2026) on Y Graig, Burry Port. We hear them each evening from our holiday accommodation so decided to head down the lane to take a look and got lucky!

Feeding in cut field off A40 roundabout exit to Llangadog viewed from Tywi bridge. It has yellow colour ring on left leg. Probably from North Devon release scheme. I will check it. Flew downriver and landed on tree stump at 8pm
