| post- breeding dispersal? A pair attempted to breed in the Tywi valley about 20 years ago but lost 2 clutches due to flooding and later gravel extraction. What was noticeable then is how they chased off any corvid in the area – indirectly help safeguard LRP and sandpiper nests. fwiw. |

| To update a previous posting of fledged barn owls from owl box the number is now 6. This is the highest number we have had in any breeding season since the owl box was put up 11 years ago. I would be very interested to hear of fledged numbers elsewhere in Carmarthenshire. |

| My wife and I noted around 120 Herring Gulls flying over our garden in Salem this evening, heading south to roost on the coast I suppose, having been feeding well inland. I caught sight of the tail-end of this event yesterday evening too. |
