After breakfast at “Daisys” we arrived at KQ and soon noticed the Phalarope at the water’s edge right by the old quay. We alerted Colin Dalton who was close by and for over 2 hours watched the bird as it moved back and forth below us. Once it moved some way down- stream only to fly back, calling. After more close views it chose to feed by the rail bridge and it was there when we left at 2.25pm.

We missed the chance to see the Phalarope by Burry Port harbour yesterday evening and so were glad to find it this morning right below the old harbour wall near the lookout. Rob Hunt and Adam Dare joined us and for some while we watched the bird as it made it way up the channel by the Burrows. It disappeared but later suddenly appeared on the east side of the pathway and it made it way towards the open water. We then left at 10.30am.
