Stradey Woods, E of Penywern. One flushed, heard the quite soft whirr  of its flight initially, before seeing it fly off. Atypically, flushed at c 40ft rather than much closer.

Spotted Redshank 2
Glossy Ibis briefly from the British Steel hide before flying off in the direction of the Reserve. The Hen Harrier over the salt marsh, flying towards the butts. Both spotted initially by Andrew.

Flocks of starlings, redwing and fieldfares in the field behind our bungalow for much of the afternoon, gradually increasing in size.

Jays going back and forth all day seemingly very busy.

Caught the fly-over this afternoon, huge number of starlings on their way to roost a few miles north of Salem. Did'nt have time even to estimate. One thing for sure though, at least a thousand birds, maybe more.
