| Lesser Spotted Woodpecker 1 | |
| NOT a record: My annual request to listen out (March/April is peak season) for the more rapid drumming or the kestrel-like `kek-kek` call of territorial birds. If you google `lesser spotted woodpecker calls drumming`, they can be heard online. I used to see them pretty consistently in my local woods (Stradey Woods & elsewhere) in the past. Recent Carms records only from near Llandeilo & near Llangadog. Try old woodland, parkland (eg Parc Dinefwr) or riverside old alders etc. |
