| Two pairs of Little Grebe, each with 2 young. A Moorhen was on each of the large pools, so possibly 4 breeding pairs. Where were the 30 or so Mallard ducklings seen there last month? |

| Mostly fairly distant, the Whimbrel calling obligingly. The Peregrine circled overhead. A pair of Water Rail were at the end of the canal, often right out in the open, with 3 chicks. |
