| Taking a quieter short cut via a back lane, I chanced upon a female sparrowhawk only c 8ft away with a dead feral pigeon as prey. I have heard other reports (inc a photograph) of sparrowhawks taking feral pigeons in Llanelli. Perhaps some females are specialising in hunting this urban prey? I`ve also been told of urban sparrowhawk nests in the town. |
