| Grasshopper Warbler heard but not seen despite our best efforts. Several young Little Grebes seen and we were able to confirm a fourth breeding pair at this site. |

| GC Grebes were with their 3, well grown young. Yet another brood of L Grebes, with an adult with 2 chicks. Also a group of 75 mainly Mallard and several Gadwall in eclipse and juv plumage, Definitely at least one Gadwall with 5 well grown young. |

| Have found several dead (young?) blackbirds and song thrushes at more than one site, the victims of the drought as they cannot access worms etc. A blackbird was seen eating a discarded pepper this morning – a case for us to provide suitable feed? |
