| Saw an adult herring gull swoop down on a wood pigeon (NB not error for `town pigeon`) feeding on crumbs in a town centre street. It pecked the pigeon on the head several times to stun it and started pulling out its feathers. Not being a fan of urban gulls, I scared off the gull (which then walked a few feet away) by pretending to kick it. It was persistent however and I had to repeat this action. The pigeon revived after a couple of minutes and flew weakly off to bushes/trees at the nearby Parish Church. |
