  Usual waterfowl, good numbers of teal, mallards, shelduck and curlew. Kingfisher flying along stream below castle, short-eared owls  hunting and perched on scrubby area towards Ginst Point.

  Bird seen drumming in sycamore branches at edge of Stradey Woods adjacent to Denham Avenue/Penywern. More rapid and persistent `drumming` than GS Woodpecker, though less loud.

Shelduck 1
Cuckoo heard calling deep in Sir John's Hill wood, Shelduck flew from Ginst Point area up the Corran River and returned without landing.
