A single spring record Penclacwydd: adult on 19th May. Two summer records, Pendine Burrows: 1 on 19th June and Glan Gwili Hospital, Carmarthen: 2 on 10th Aug. Autumn migration was represented by a single adult at Penclacwydd from 20th to 22nd September and 1 juvenile at the same site from 9th to 13th October, with two on 11th and 12th.

Single birds appeared at Ginst Point on 4th June and Pembrey Country Park two days later, to be followed by a third at Penclacwydd on 7th June which remained until 14th June. Only one autumn record was received, a singleton at Penclacwydd on 17th September.

The earliest date was a single bird at Pembrey Country Park on 29th April although it was the following month before the main influx arrived with a pair at Ginst Point on 13th May, followed by single birds at Pumpsaint on 15th May and Penclacwydd on 30th May. No autumn records were received.

The only record was of 1 near Ginst Point on 18th May.

There were 4 records of singles: at East House Farm, Ginst Point on 19th May; at Penclacwydd from 1st – 4th June, at Rhosmaen on 7th and at Penclacwydd on 20th September.

All records were of spring passage birds in May with singles at Llangynog from 3rd – 7th, at Carmarthen from 4th – 6th and at North Dock, Llanelli 16th, with 2 at Pembrey Airfield on 20th.

Only recorded at Penclacwydd with singles on 16th – 17th May and 4th June.

The first bird since 1998 occurred at Burry Port on 11th June. Photographed. It lingered a few days. Annoyingly, it absented itself on the day I called in to see it!

2 near Burry Port on the early date of 15th April and 1 at Carmel on 25th August is an improvement on last year’s showing.
