| It can be difficult at this time of year to differentiate singing overwintering continental Blackcaps from summer visitors. The former tend to have a `sub-song` much as departing Redwings have. This morning I heard 3 different singing Blackcaps within typical breeding habitat in Stradey Woods and I consider them to be spring arrivals. Also a calling territorial Green Woodpecker. |
